Submitting a high-quality abstract is a critical step toward successful participation in an International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS) World Congress. This webinar is designed for clinicians, researchers, nurses, psychologists, and allied health professionals working in psycho-oncology and related fields who wish to strengthen their abstract-writing skills and improve their chances of acceptance. The session provided a structured, practical overview of how IPOS World Congress abstracts are evaluated and what reviewers are looking for.
Participants were guided through the essential components of a strong abstract, with particular attention to clarity, scientific rigor, and alignment with IPOS thematic priorities. Common pitfalls leading to rejection were discussed, alongside strategies to clearly articulate clinical relevance, methodological soundness, and psychosocial impact within strict word limits.
Using real-world examples, the webinar demonstrated how to refine research questions, present qualitative and quantitative findings effectively, and tailor abstracts for different presentation formats (oral, poster, symposium). This session is especially relevant for early-career professionals but will also benefit experienced authors seeking to enhance precision, coherence, and impact in competitive international congress submissions.
