Implementation science is a specialized field dedicated to the study of methods and strategies to support the integration of evidence-based practices, programs, and policies into health systems. This webinar will provide an overview of implementation science and increasing importance in the current scientific landscape of psychosocial oncology. Different key concepts and terms will be defined (e.g., effectiveness vs. efficacy). Also, prominent implementation science theories, models, and frameworks will be presented. Methodological approaches to assessing  barriers and enablers to implementation and defining implementation outcomes, will be discussed.

The learning objectives include:

  • Understanding what is implementation science in the current scientific landscape.
  • Identifying key implementation science theories, models, and frameworks.
  • Identify methods to assess barriers and enablers to implementation.
  • List key implementation outcomes.
