My name is Oscar Galindo Vázquez. I work in the Psych-oncology Service at the National Cancer Institute (INCAN) of Mexico.
I currently coordinate the Psych-oncology Research and Development Unit at INCan. We have created a research group in evidence-based psycho-oncology, the world mental health day seminar, and training in psycho-oncology and health psychology.
I am a Postgraduate Tutor in Psychology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a bachelor's degree tutor at the Latin University where I have graduated several students with research lines in psycho-oncology.
I am a member of the International Society of Psycho-Oncology where I have participated in IPOS congresses presenting research and clinical care programs in Mexico in populations with greater psychosocial adversity. My main lines of research are psycho-oncology in patients with hereditary cancer, psychological intervention in patients with breast cancer, informal primary caregivers, and health literacy.
I am part of the founding and coordinating committee of the Latin American Psychosocial Oncology Research Training group FIPOL where we have carried out studies during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have written several articles and book chapters nationally and internationally.
I love working in research and clinical care! Being a member of IPOS represents a great opportunity for me to collaborate with colleagues from all over the world and spread what we have done at INCan.
